When will I be attending New Student Orientation Part 1: Advising and Scheduling (NSO1)?
The NSO1 program is for all new incoming Penn State Berks students who will begin during the Fall semester.
For Students admitted Fall Semester
NSO1 Testing (Begins Mid-March)
After you accept your offer of admission, you will be scheduled to take a math placement test online. Allow about 1 1/2 hours to take the test. You will be given a deadline by which you MUST take serious this test. Details about the testing will be sent to you from University Park along with the notification of your deadline beginning in early March.
Students use the months of March, April and May to take the placement tests.
On-line scheduling of a NSO1 Date (Begins May 19)
Students will be mailed a postcard in mid-April with instructions on scheduling a NSO1 date. NSO1 testing must be completed before a student will be permitted to access the on-line scheduling system. If you choose a date and we do not have your test results, we will cancel your appointment. These postcards will be mailed around mid-April.
New Student Orientation Part 1: (NSO1) Advising and Scheduling (Begins mid-June)
The NSO1 program at Berks is a full day program. When you receive notification to choose your date, please choose the earliest possible date and refrain from changing it. However, if you cannot attend your assigned day, our staff will work with you to select a later NSO1 date. Canceling or changing your appointment may result in your not being able to schedule critical classes your first semester. If there is an unforeseen emergency that prevents you from making your NSO1 day, please contact the Academic Advising Center at 610-396-6280.
Please be sure that you report on the correct day. Do not schedule a date until you receive notice from us.
