Project History

During 2009 - 2010, the Center for Learning & Teaching at Penn State Berks partnered with Spanish professors Dr. Bélen Rodríguez-Mourelo and Dr. Rosario Torres to create a series of online resources to enhance our Spanish curriculum. Dr. Edwin Murillo joined the faculty team in 2012 and the project continued through early 2013. The online tutorials and interactive practice exercises target particular concepts that students typically struggle with.

The project was managed under the direction of John Shank, former director of the Center for Learning & Teaching. Amy Roche, former instructional designer, worked with faculty to identify instructional content; and Mary Ann Mengel, instructional multimedia designer continued the iterative design/develpment process. The modules were developed using Adobe Flash and Adobe Presenter. Tricia Clark, former instructional technologist, contributed instructional technology support.
