Students to volunteer at Opportunity House
For the second time this semester, Penn State Berks students will volunteer their time to take groceries and prepare and serve lunch to approximately 80 people at Opportunity House on Saturday, March 24, 2012.
Students who have participated in community service projects report the service as being one of the most rewarding experiences of their college careers. Participating in community service is an educational and social exchange in which students are gaining an equally valuable experience as those who they wish to help.
Andrea Pfaff, Student Activities Coordinator, commented, “I am always impressed by our students' dedication to making a difference in our community, and these projects are evidence of the wonderful things we can accomplish when our faculty, staff, students, and community come together for a great cause.”
All the Opportunity House projects are funded by the Penn State Berks Beaver Community Service Endowment Fund. For more information, contact the Office of Campus Life at 610-396-6387.
