Jayne Brown is a Senior Lecturer in English at Penn State Berks. Brown teaches composition, creative writing and advanced nonfiction courses. She is also the coordinator of the Literary Arts Series, which brings regional and nationally known writers to the college for readings and classroom visits. My First Real Tree, a book of Brown's poems, was published by FootHills in 2004. One of her poems, "Finding Her Here," was recently commissioned as a composition for women's chorus with music by composer Joan Szymko, and debuted in Philadelphia for the 30th anniversary celebration of Anna Crusis Women's Chorus. The poem is also distributed as a poster by Syracuse Cultural Workers, and has been translated into Chinese, Russian and Spanish.
