Jump start your career
Penn State Berks offers high school students the opportunity to take college courses on campus at a 50 percent tuition reduction. This enables students to get a jump on their college careers by earning college credits while still in high school. Students participating in this program may choose from a variety of courses offered at Penn State.
Dual Enrollment is open to high school juniors and seniors. Typical Dual Enrollment Applicants will have a 3.0 GPA and a combined SAT math and critical reading score of 1000. Exceptions to this criteria may be granted at the discretion of the Penn State Berks admissions staff. Students who have graduated from high school are not eligible to participate.
Applying to the Program:
Interested students must submit all of the the following in order to be evaluated for Dual Enrollment:
- A Dual Enrollment Application

- Official High School Transcripts
- Standardized test scores (SAT, ACT, PSAT, or PSSAs)
- Letter of support from guidance counselor or principal
This information is required for both juniors and seniors. University Park Admissions will review and approve applications for juniors.
High school seniors may enroll in up to 8 credits per semester, beginning in the summer prior to their senior year. Qualified juniors may take one course (up to 4 credits) beginning in the summer prior to their junior year. To remain in the program students must earn a grade of C or better in each course.
Penn State Berks offers 50% grant-in-aid for all students taking part in Dual Enrollment for a maximum of 8 credits per semester. Books, technology fees, and activity fees will also be applied. It is the student's responsibility to arrange tuition payment. Any questions regarding the tuition bill should be directed to the Bursar's office at 610-396-6040.
